How to apply
Applying Vietnam visa online (Vietnam e-visa) for citizens of Cuba

Are you interested in traveling to Vietnam? You’re not alone! Tourism in the country has boomed in the last years and each year, it becomes more popular. It’s a fascinating, beautiful, charming country full of history and culture. And let’s not forget about the food! The Vietnamese kitchen is so tasty, you’ll want to go back just for the food. Don’t forget to try world famous dishes such as pho, banh mi and fresh spring rolls.

Whether you want to lay on a beach all day long, go hiking in the mountains, cruise around in Halong Bay, ride a motorbike and go cross country or learn more about the tumultuous history of Vietnam in some of the most fascinating museums, you can do it all here and much, much more.

Since Cuba is not on the Vietnam visa exempt list, all citizens of Cuba are required to apply for a visa in beforehand. Regardless of the length of stay or purpose of visit, you must be able to show a valid Vietnam visa to the immigration officers. If you fail to do this, they will deny you entry to the country. Applying for a visa has never been easier as it is today! You can either get an online visa (e-visa if you want to visit Vietnam for a single trip within 30 days OR visa on arrival if you want ti visit Vietnam for multiple times in one month or more than 3 months), which is by far the most preferred way to get a visa because it’s easy and fast to get, or you can go to your Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in La Habana, Cuba and apply with them. Take a look at the two options further explained to see which one suits you the best.

1. Electronic visa or Vietnam E-visa for Cuban passport holders

On 01 Jan 2017, The Immigration of Vietnam announced to launch an electronic visa system to make visitors easy to gain an entry into Vietnam. Under a government directive released in January 2017, citizens from 46 countries will be eligible to apply for the e-visa, including citizens of Cuba.

Cuban passport holders, who want to visit Vietnam for less than 30 days on a single trip, can apply online for an e-visa directly at the government website https://evisa.immigration.gov.vn (please note that the fee is non-refundable if you apply your e-visa at the government website).

If you want to secure your e-visa with refundable policy & fast support 24/7 service (100% satisfied or get back your money) you can apply your e-visa through our easy form application (filling your entry date, entry and exit port of arrival then submit your passport copy online) then we will take care the rest of procedure to get your e-visa on time as promise.

Note : if you want to visit Vietnam for multiple times in one month or want to visit Vietnam for more than one month, please choose options below :

2. Visa on Arrival (VOA) – Applying online for pre-approval then pick up your visa on arrival at the airport of Vietnam

If live far away from the Vietnamese Embassy for example, or you do not want to send important documents such as your passport, this is the ideal option for you. To apply for a VOA, you need your computer and internet. If you get a Visa on Arrival, you are allowed to enter Vietnam through any of the 5 international airports: Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hai Phong. You can only travel by air if you get a VOA, meaning you can’t enter Vietnam by bus, car, and so forth.

The process is very simple.  What you need to do is fill out the Online Application form with all relevant information. What you need to state in the application form is:

  • Your full name, as stated in your passport
  • Date of Birth – The format they use in Vietnam is DD/MM/YY
  • Your nationality – as stated in your passport
  • Your passport number
  • Date of Arrival – you can state a date of arrival and then arrive later, but not earlier

After you have filled this information out, you have to wait for a confirmation email which usually arrives within 1-2 working hours. Normally you will receive an Approval Letter within 2 working days. When the letter comes, don’t forget to print it out so the immigration officers in Vietnam can stamp your passport. If you need an emergency visa, you can get one within 40 minutes to 4 hours. This will cost you more money, but you will be able to get it much faster.

2. Apply for a visa through the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in La Habana, Cuba.

The reason why applying for a visa with the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate might not be recommended is because it’s not as convenient if you don’t live close to the embassy of Vietnam in La Habana, Cuba. It means you will have to spend time on transportation and money. You also need to remember to bring all the necessary documents, such as passport, and if you happen to forget anything, you need to start the process all over again. It’s time consuming and you usually need to pick up your passport in the embassy or consulate. Also, be kindly advised that the fees and procedures are subject to change depending on where you apply.
