Who is exempted from Vietnam visa?

Citizens of following countries can enter Vietnam without a visa:

Citizens of Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italia, Japan, Korea, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Spain and United Kingdom** are allowed to stay in Vietnam for a maximum of 15 days visa-free, regardless of their passport types and entry purposes. Please note that a gap of at least 30 days from the previous exit are required, otherwise, that person is required to have appropriate visa to enter Vietnam.

** Please note that British National Overseas (BNO) passport holders are required visa for visiting Vietnam.

What if I change my flight and arrive at another airport in Vietnam?

You can enter via any of the following airports with a visa on arrival:

  • Da Nang Int’l Airport in Da Nang city,
  • Cam Ranh Int’l Airport in Khanh Hoa province (Nha Trang city),
  • Tan Son Nhat Int’l Airport in Ho Chi Minh City,
  • Noi Bai Int’l Airport in Hanoi city,

As long as you arrive in one of these airports, it will be fine.

How will I get my visa approval letter?

Do I need to give you the exact date of my arrival?

Yes, you should provide the earliest date you plan to arrive.

However, you can arrive after that date. The departure date you provide will be the last day you can stay in the country unless you get a visa extension. For example, if you get a one month visa and you submit your arrival date as June 1, 2018, your approval letter will be valid until July 1, 2018.

Is a photo required? If so, what size do I need to bring?

Yes, a photo is required upon arrival at the airport. Please remember to bring at least two standard photos of passport size (4cm x 6 cm). If you forgot or did not have time to bring it, there is also the opportunity to have your photo taken at the airport for $2 per photo.

How much in advance do I have to apply before traveling to Vietnam?

You can get your visa approval within 2 business days, but to be sure, it is recommended to apply for at least 1 week in advance. You can also apply for an Express Visa, if you need it urgently. The visa will then be processed between 2 to 4 hours.

How much does it cost for an e-visa?

Fee to get an e-visa through our website is US$40 (tourist e-visa) and US$55 (business e-visa) – 100% Money Back Guarantee policy if your e-visa rejected or failed. No additional fee on arrival.

Please note that the fee of the government website (https://evisa.immigration.gov.vn) is low (US$25) and is non-refundable if rejected or failed.

How much does it cost for a Vietnam visa on arrival?

Fee to get a Vietnam visa depend on the issuing country of your passport (where you come from), basically, if you want to apply for a 30 day tourist visa it will only cost you $8 – this is the lowest price online and much lower than the price charged by the Vietnamese Embassy. There is also the choice of choosing a 3 months single entry tourist visa for $20. If you wish to apply for a 3 months multi entry tourist visa, it will cost you $32. The fees mentioned above is for getting the visa approval letter from the Immigration Department of Vietnam only. You have to pay for stamp fee when picking up your visa on arrival at your destination airport (US$25/pp for single entry visa, US$50 for multiple entry visa, US$95 for six-month multiple entry visa and US$135 for one-year visa).

There is an exception for citizens of Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Syria, ….. The cost to get the visa approval letter may be higher.

Can I enter Vietnam without a visa?

It depends which country you are from. Most often you will need to apply for a visa, but for example, Russian, Belarussian, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Swedish, Japanese, Korean….. citizens can enter the country for 14 days visa free. If they wish to stay longer, they will need to apply for a Vietnam visa. Always check with us if you are not certain.

What is a visa approval letter?

A visa on arrival is an online, alternative way to apply for a visa in order to visit Vietnam. It is one of the two kinds of visas that will be stamped onto your passport upon your arrival at any of the International Airports. This option is preferred by many international tourists who come to Vietnam. It is both easy to apply to, convenient, quick and affordable. You will need to fill out the Online Application Form where you state your name, date of birth, et cetera. Afterwards you will have to wait for the approval letter that will usually come within 2 business days.
