Plan An Activity-Based Itinerary

One of the best ways to keep your kids happy on your Vietnam trip is to plan an itinerary that includes activities that your kids will surely love. For instance, you can go cruising on Halong Bay where your kids can enjoy some activities like kayaking, swimming, fishing, and other fun activities! In Hanoi, you can take your kids at the park near Hoan Kiem Lake where they can go biking and perhaps, play with some local kids! There are also a few theme parks at the southern part of Vietnam that your kids will surely love, such as the Suoi Tien Amusement Park and Dam Sen Water Park.

The Mekong Delta is also a great place for you and your kids to visit. You can take part on one of those tours that include a trip down the backwaters and a visit to fruit candy factories. Your kids will surely have a blast!

Just like with traveling to any other countries in the world, traveling to Vietnam with your kids requires proper planning and organizing. It’s important that you have a travel plan that includes where you will stay, your daily schedule, transportation, and everything else. As for the accommodation, there are lots of family-friendly hotels in Vietnam that won’t cost you a lot of money. In fact, others come with swimming pools and other child-friendly facilities.

If you’re a family of five or more, it may be best to arrange your transport ahead. Standard taxis in Vietnam can only fit up to four people. So if you’re more than four, you may need to pre-arrange a van taxi that could accommodate all of you.

Carry Some Protection

Although Vietnam is a totally safe place to visit with kids, you may need to bring some protection to ensure they stay healthy and in good shape. Dengue fever is fairly common in Asia, especially in Vietnam. So to ensure you and your kids’ safety, bring an insect repellent with you. As for beating the heat and pollution, it may be best if you let your kids wear long sleeves and hats. Above all, make sure you bring enough medicines with you. Although there are lots of pharmacies in Vietnam, you’ll never know when an emergency strikes.

If you are going to travel long distances, you may need to pack anti-nausea medications. Vietnam has lots of long and winding roads and traveling in far away places can be nauseating for your little ones.

Be Careful In Crossing the Roads

Crossing the road in Vietnam requires a bit of an art. It might seem alarming at first, but it is best to prepare your kids for this. They are probably used to wandering around on the side of the road back home, but Vietnam is totally different. Some roads in Vietnam don’t have any sidewalks and wandering at the side of the streets can be very dangerous.

Make sure you guide your kids when crossing the roads in Vietnam and try to walk in between them. Try to form a straight line when crossing the street because this will be easier for drivers to spot you. Be very alert and cautious especially on busy streets where there are lots of motorbikes zooming around.
