The Top 8 Things to Do and See in Quy Nhon, Vietnam

The capital of the Binh Dinh Province, Quy Nhon is a coastal city in central Vietnam surrounded by beautiful beaches. Despite not being a main tourist spot, the city is a fantastic seaside destination with stunning countryside. Quy Nhon served as the ruling centre of the Emperor Le Thanh Ton in the 15th century. With fishing being a major industry here, you’ll find some delicious and fresh seafood from its dining scene.

Travel and Visa Requirements

You can reach Quy Nhon by air, train or bus easily. Phu Cat Airport is around 30km northwest of Quy Nhon and there’s a regular shuttle bus running from the airport to the city. The city is serviced by a train station, however, there is only one train a day directly from Quy Nhon to Ho Chi Minh City. The city can be reached by bus from several main stops including Da Lat, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet.

For ocean lovers, Quy Nhon has some fantastic snorkelling oppotunities. Ky Co island is around 25km from Quy Nhon and has exquisite shores. While visiting Ky Co, visit Bai Dua, 15 minutes away by speedboat. Bai Dua is a perfect snorkelling destination. Finish off your day of swimming with a visit to Hon Kho and fill up on seafood.

Located around 20km north of Quy Nhon, the Thap Doi Cham Towers sit at the top of a hill where you can receive panoramic views of the countryside. The beautiful Cham architecture is still in good condition despite being around for years. If you have the time, be sure to visit the Long Kannh Pagoda, famed for its 17-meter-high Buddha.
