How to apply
Apply Vietnam Visa Online (Vietnam e-visa) for Ethiopians

Are you thinking of traveling to Vietnam but you’re not sure why you should? There are many reasons why you should travel around the country, but some factors stand out more than others. Whether you are looking for adventure or want to relax, if you want to go to a big city or small, wake up to the sound of the beach or sound of the mountains – Vietnam has it all!

Some of the reasons why you should go here is because Vietnam is so diverse. If you love adventure, there are plenty of options for you. Why not rent a motorbike and go cross country – it’s very popular amongst backpackers and this is a good way to see the country. You can stop whenever and wherever! If you like beaches, there’s an abundance of them. Just hit the coast of Vietnam and you can choose from many. There’s water sport activities as well, such as jet ski and kite surfing. If you prefer to relax, you can lay on the beach with a coconut in your hand.

Another reason why you should go to Vietnam is because of the food. Vietnam has some of the most delicious cuisine that you will find and the Vietnamese kitchen has spread all over the world. Not only is it incredible, but it’s also very affordable. There’s a lot of cooking classes you can take as well.

If you prefer cities, there are big cities you can go to. Why not start in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, that has become very popular amongst tourists. If you go further down south, you have the town of Hoi An which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can get tailor-made clothes. Go even further and you are in Vietnam’s biggest city, Ho Chi Minh City, where you can find almost everything you would like.

But before you start booking your trip, you will have to apply for a Vietnam visa. It’s a simple process and you can choose between two options: either you apply for a visa in the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate, or you apply for a Visa on Arrival (VOA).

I heard about Vietnam e-visa. Can I apply for Vietnam e-visa if I am citizens of Ethiopia? (No, citizens of Ethiopia are not eligible for Vietnam e-visa)

From 01 Feb 2019, under Decision 17/2019/NĐ-CP of the Government of Vietnam, there are 80 countries which citizens of it are eligible to apply online for an e-visa of Vietnam online (e-visa is a single entry valid for staying 30 days). We check but not found Ethiopia national in this list, therefore, citizens of Ethiopia should choose two options below to get a visa for Vietnam

1. Apply visa via the Vietnamese Consulate or Embassy in the nearby countries of Ethiopia

One of the options is to apply for a visa at the Vietnamese Consulate or Vietnamese Embassy. If you choose to go this way, you have to bring your passport and any relevant documents to the consulate or embassy. If you live far away from the Embassy or Consulate, it might be a bit inconvenient for you. Sometimes the progress of your application will take a longer time as well, especially if there are important documents that are missing.

2. Visa on Arrival – Apply online for pre-approval then pick up visa on arrival at the airport of Vietnam

The other choice is to apply for a Visa on Arrival (VOA). This is the most popular way of getting a Vietnam visa because of its convenience, quickness, safety and it is also inexpensive. It also gives you multi-entries, so you can go to another country and come back to Vietnam. You can apply for this anywhere in the world. All you need to do is have a computer and internet. With a Visa On Arrival, there is no need to send your passport or any other important private documents. What you need to do is fill out an Online Application Form, wait for your confirmation letter and you will normally receive a Visa Approval Letter within 2 working days. When everything is done, don’t forget to print out the finalized document, bring it to the airport in Vietnam and get it stamped by one of the immigration officers.

When your visa is approved, you can enter Vietnam and start enjoying your adventure! We promise that it’s a trip that you will never forget!
