How to apply
Applying Vietnam visa online (Vietnam e-visa) for citizens of Palau

Are you going to travel to Vietnam from Palau in the nearby future? Then you must remember to apply for a Vietnam visa. All citizens of Palau are required to apply for a visa, regardless of the length of stay or purpose. Even if you are only planning on being in the country for a few days, even hours, you’ll have to apply for a visa.

The visa process is simple and easy for citizens of Palau. The two first option is also the most popular one: Apply online for an e-visa if you stay in Vietnam for less than 30 days (single entry) Or applying online for pre-approval then getting a Visa on Arrival if you plan to visit Vietnam multiple entries in one month or stay in Vietnam for more than 30 days . This is an online visa and can be acquired from wherever you are in the world. You just need to fill out an application online and wait for your visa to arrive in your email. The other option is to go through the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in the nearby countries of Palau and apply with them. Let’s take a look at the two options further explained:

1. Electronic visa or Vietnam e-visa for Palauan passport holders

From 01 Feb 2019, under Decision 17/2019/NĐ-CP of the Government of Vietnam, citizens of Palau are eligible to apply online for an e-visa of Vietnam online (e-visa is a single entry valid for staying 30 days).

Palauan passport holders, who want to visit Vietnam for less than 30 days for a single trip, can apply online for an e-visa directly at the government website https://evisa.immigration.gov.vn(please note that the fee is non-refundable if you apply your e-visa at the government website).

If you want to secure your e-visa with refundable policy (100% satisfied or get back your money) you can apply your e-visa through our easy form application (filling your entry date, entry and exit port of arrival then submit your passport copy online) then we will take care the rest of procedure to get your e-visa on time as promise.

Note : if you want to visit Vietnam for multiple times in one month or want to visit Vietnam for more than one month, please choose options below :

2. Visa on Arrival (VOA) – Applying online for pre-approval then pick up your visa on arrival at the airport of Vietnam

This is the most preferred option for many travellers. If you live far away from the Vietnamese Embassy for example, or you do not want to send important documents such as your passport, this is a good option for you. It’s also easy, quick and affordable. To apply for a VOA, you need your computer and internet. If you get a Visa on Arrival, you are allowed to enter Vietnam through any of the 5 international airports: Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hai Phong. You can only travel by air if you get a VOA, meaning you can’t enter Vietnam by bus, car, and so forth.

The process is very simple.  What you need to do is fill out the Online Application form with all relevant information. What you need to state in the application form is:

  • Your full name, as stated in your passport
  • Date of Birth – The format they use in Vietnam is DD/MM/YY
  • Your nationality – as stated in your passport
  • Your passport number
  • Date of Arrival – you can state a date of arrival and then arrive later, but not earlier

After you have filled this information out, you have to wait for a confirmation email which usually arrives within 1-2 working hours. Normally you will receive an Approval Letter within 2 working days. When the letter comes, don’t forget to print it out so the immigration officers in Vietnam can stamp your passport. If you need an emergency visa, you can get one within 40 minutes to 4 hours. This will cost you more money, but you will be able to get it much faster.

2. Apply for a visa through the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in the nearby countries of Palau

The reason why applying for a visa with the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in Palau might not be recommended is because it’s not as convenient if you don’t live close to the embassy. It means you will have to spend time on transportation and money. You also need to remember to bring all the necessary documents, such as passport, and if you happen to forget anything, you need to start the process all over again. It’s time consuming and you usually need to pick up your passport in the embassy or consulate. Also, be kindly advised that the fees and procedures are subject to change depending on where you apply.

When in Vietnam, you should travel either north to south, or vice versa. This is by far one of the most popular routes in Vietnam and will enable you to see a big chunk of the country. Each region has its own beauty so make sure you plan your trip well so you won’t miss out on anything. Some of the most popular destinations in Vietnam include: Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta and Hoi An.

Enjoy your trip!
